My name is Davy Nlovu and I'm from Zimbabwe. My language group is Tjwao of the Tjwa or San people of Southern Africa. I'm a language activist. I have developed abilities in Khoisan languages and cultural research, documentation and revitalization. I am also a writer and have experience in historical documentation and compilation. I work at peace building, customer service management, and consultancy management. I am a good team player and have good organizational abilities.
Em dic Davy Nlovu i sóc de Zimbàbue. El meu grup lingüístic és el Tjwao, del poble Tjwa o San al sud d'Àfrica. Sóc un activista lingüístic. He esdevingut fluid en les llengües Khoisan aixó com en recerca, documentació i revitalització cultural. També sóc escriptor i tinc experiència en documentació i compilació històrica. Treballo en matèria de foment de la pau, en gestió de servei d'atenció al client i en gestió de consultoria. M'agrada treballar en equip i tinc habilitats organitzatives.
RV: Quin és l'estat actual de la teva llengua a internet i fora d'ell?
Tjwao is a critically endangered language with less than a dozen speakers between the ages of 65 to 97. There are no young speakers at the moment. At 53, I'm considered the youngest speaker. We are just starting to use social media to promote the visibility of Tjwao, otherwise there are no tools, and one can not even Google Tjwao on the net.
El Tjwao és un idioma en perill d'extinció crític, amb menys d'una dotzena de parlants d'entre 65 i 97 anys. Actualment, no hi ha parlants joves. Amb els meus 53 anys, en sóc el parlant més jove. Estem just començant a utilitzar les xarxes socials per promoure la visibilitat del Tjwao, doncs no hi ha cap altra manera, hom no pot ni tan sols googlejar en Tjwao a la xarxa.

My focus will be on how to use social media to enhance the vitality of Tjwao so as to attract young people and get them interest in learning the language
Incidiré en com utilitzar les xarxes socials per reviscolar el Tjwao per tal d'atreure als més joves i suscitar-los interès per aprendre la llengua.
RV: Quines són les motivacions subjacents al teu activisme digital en favor de la teva llengua? Quines són les teves esperances i els teus somnis pel teu idioma?
Early this year, we started making animated language lessons which are available on laptops and this has increase the number of young learners. It is also easier to conduct lessons in digital formats. We are now able to send the lessons to various government departments as proof that our language exists and we need it included in the national curriculum.
A principis d'aquest any vam començar a crear lliçons lingüístiques animades, les quals estan disponibles des de l'ordinador, i això ha augmentat el número de joves que estan aprenent la llengua. A més, amb formats digitals és més senzill dur a terme lliçons. Ara podem enviar les lliçons a diversos departaments governamentals com a prova de que la nostra llengua existeix i de que necessitem que s'incorpori al pla d'estudis nacional.
